Brisbane Airport is set to auction more than 700 unclaimed items left behind by travelers in an effort to raise funds for sick children. The auction features a wide array of lost property collected from the airport’s terminals this year, where over 25 million passengers have passed through.

Among the diverse collection are unusual items such as a boat’s outboard engine, a vehicle towbar, a sewing machine, a large Bluey stuffed toy, and a Starlink satellite internet kit. Several pieces of memorabilia related to the Fokker F28 Fellowship airliner are also included. Many of these belongings have remained unclaimed well beyond the airport’s standard holding period.

The Brisbane Airport Lost Property Auction aims to provide a new purpose for these forgotten items while supporting a charitable cause. All proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Children’s Hospital Foundation, which funds programs and services for sick children and their families.

The auction is being conducted online and will remain open for bidding until November 8. A livestreamed event will follow to finalize the auction and announce winners. Interested participants can view the catalogue and place bids through the airport’s website at bne.com.au/auction.
