IOAK, the nightlife venue known for attracting high-profile celebrities, has resumed operations at its former West 17th Street location in New York City. The reopening coincided with Fashion Week, drawing notable attendees including Leonardo DiCaprio, Cindy Crawford and her daughter Kaia Gerber, Winnie Harlow, Future, Ice Spice, and Awar Hadid.

The club, which originally opened in 2007 by Richie Akiva and Scott Sartiano, quickly became a staple of New York’s bottle-service scene, hosting figures such as Drake, Jay-Z, Pharrell Williams, Justin Bieber, Lenny Kravitz, Paris Hilton, and Lindsay Lohan. It also gained attention for events like the 2009 World Series celebration by Yankees players Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter, and the 2017 incident involving Mets pitcher Matt Harvey missing a game after a night at the club.

IOAK had closed its doors during the COVID-19 pandemic and faced eviction in 2022 due to nearly $1.8 million in unpaid rent, as recorded in court documents. A representative for Akiva later confirmed that the issue was resolved and the owed funds were recovered.

The current reopening is described as part of a “farewell tour,” according to Darren Dzienciol, who manages the club alongside Akiva. However, sources suggest there are discussions about potentially reopening IOAK permanently, possibly at a different downtown location as soon as February. Meanwhile, the West 17th Street space is expected to host up to 12 pop-up events annually and may also be used for private parties and special events.

The recent Fashion Week event saw the venue filled to capacity, with crowds gathering outside hoping for entry, reflecting ongoing demand for IOAK’s return to the city's nightlife landscape. The future of IOAK appears optimistic as its operators explore options for a more permanent presence in Manhattan’s nightlife scene.
