Al Aasy, a nine-year-old racehorse trained by William Haggas, is poised to secure a third consecutive victory in the Glorious Stakes. Despite his age, the veteran horse remains highly competitive, boasting a record of 12 wins in 30 races, including eight at the Group 3 level.

Al Aasy first claimed the Glorious Stakes title in 2024, narrowly defeating Relentless Voyager, and successfully defended the crown last year with a commanding three-length win over Meydaan. Earlier this year, he carried a 3-pound penalty while winning the Gordon Richards Stakes at Sandown, but he will compete without such a burden in the upcoming race.

The horse’s recent form is further supported by victory at Beverley’s Listed Charlie Wood Stakes earlier this month, an effort that sets jockey Tom Marquand and Al Aasy up well for today’s contest. Within the same stable, Opportunity is considered the primary challenger, while In My Teens and Enfjaar are expected to contend for third place in the race.
