A delegation from the Qatari Al Gannas Society recently attended the International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition held at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center. The event, organised by the National Falcon Center, spanned 10 days and concluded yesterday.

The delegation was led by Ali bin Khatam al-Mahsaidi, chairman of the Al Gannas Board of Directors. During their visit, members toured various sections of the exhibition, which featured a series of activities including falcon auctions and the Melwah lure racing competition. The latter comprised 12 rounds and offered total prize money of 723,000 Saudi riyals (approximately $193,000).

Al-Mahsaidi emphasized the importance of the exhibition in preserving the tradition of falconry, a cultural heritage shared by both Qatar and Saudi Arabia. He also pointed to the value of fostering cooperation between the two countries through the exchange of knowledge and expertise related to falconry and the management of international events.

The Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition continues to serve as a major regional platform for promoting falconry, a practice deeply embedded in Gulf heritage, while supporting ongoing collaboration between neighboring countries.
