Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan al-Hammadi, Secretary-General of Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Qatari Committee for the Alliance of Civilisations, met with Dr. Eirdays Abdukhakilov, Director of the Islamic Civilisation Centre in Uzbekistan, during the latter’s visit to Qatar. The meeting, held on October 28, focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the cultural sector and promoting greater awareness of Islamic civilisation between the two countries.

Both officials discussed frameworks for collaboration, including organising conferences and seminars aimed at fostering dialogue and understanding related to the heritage and contributions of Islamic civilisation. They also explored opportunities for exchange visits to facilitate closer ties and shared learning experiences.

The discussions underscored a mutual commitment to strengthening the longstanding relations between Qatar and Uzbekistan through cultural diplomacy and joint initiatives. The parties agreed that such programmes would serve as a platform for advancing knowledge and appreciation of Islamic culture while solidifying bilateral ties.

This meeting reflects ongoing efforts by both governments to deepen cooperation in various fields, with a particular emphasis on cultural and civilisational exchange, as part of a broader strategy to promote international dialogue and understanding.
