Al-Ittihad and Al-Qadsiah each recorded important victories in the sixth round of the Saudi Rosh League on Wednesday, September 9, as the competition intensifies at the top of the standings.

Al-Ittihad secured a 2-1 win against Al-Fayha in Riyadh, maintaining their pursuit of the league leaders. George Ilenikhena opened the scoring for Al-Ittihad in the 43rd minute before Jason equalized for Al-Fayha during first-half stoppage time. The decisive goal came in the 68th minute from Youssef En-Nesyri, who converted a penalty to give Al-Ittihad the lead and ultimately the win. With the three points, Al-Ittihad reached 14 points from six matches, placing them third in the table, just one point behind the joint leaders Al-Hilal and Al-Qadsiah, who each have 15 points. Al-Fayha remained in 11th place with five points.

In a separate encounter, Al-Qadsiah defended a three-goal advantage to overcome Al-Ahli 3-2 at home. Tijjani Reijnders gave Al-Qadsiah an early lead in the 14th minute and added a second goal early into first-half stoppage time. He completed his hat-trick deep into stoppage time at the end of the first half, putting Al-Qadsiah ahead 3-0. Although Al-Ahli staged a late rally with Ivan Toney scoring twice—in the 63rd and 82nd minutes—the visitors could not bridge the gap before the final whistle. The victory drew Al-Qadsiah level with Al-Hilal at the top of the standings on 15 points, with Al-Hilal leading on goal difference. Al-Ahli stayed seventh with nine points.

These results have intensified the race for the Saudi Rosh League title as the top three teams remain firmly clustered near the summit heading into the next round of fixtures.
