Qatar’s Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, HE Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi, held a series of meetings on Tuesday with senior UK officials to discuss regional developments and enhance bilateral relations. The discussions took place with Jonathan Powell, the UK National Security Advisor; Hamish Faulkner, Minister for the Middle East and North Africa at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office; and Baroness Jenny Chapman, Minister for International Development at the same department.
The agenda focused on deepening cooperation between Qatar and the United Kingdom while addressing the evolving situation in the Middle East. Particular attention was given to ongoing mediation efforts between the United States and Iran. Minister Al Khulaifi reiterated Qatar’s firm support for diplomatic initiatives aimed at resolving the underlying causes of tensions through peaceful dialogue.
He emphasized the importance of achieving a sustainable agreement that would prevent further escalation in the region. The talks reflected Qatar’s continued commitment to facilitating constructive engagement and promoting stability amid complex geopolitical challenges.
These discussions underscore Qatar’s role as a mediator and its strategic partnerships with international counterparts in managing regional security concerns. Both sides expressed willingness to continue collaboration to address shared interests and promote peace in the Middle East.
