The Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen reported intercepting and destroying a series of missile attacks launched by the Houthi militia targeting southern Saudi Arabia. On Sunday, coalition spokesperson Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki confirmed that 10 ballistic missiles were neutralized over the southern region, along with a cruise missile aimed at Khamis Mushait in the Asir area.
In addition to these interceptions, Saudi air defenses destroyed a ballistic missile directed at Riyadh, as well as an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) near the capital, according to Al-Maliki. The coalition attributed these attacks to the Houthi militia, labeling the group as terrorist.
Despite the interceptions, two injuries were reported in the southern Asir region when missile debris fell in Khamis Mushait and the Ahad Rafidah governorate. The General Directorate of Civil Defense said the falling fragments struck a Saudi citizen and an Asian resident, causing minor injuries. The debris also damaged three residential buildings and seven vehicles before emergency teams responded and implemented standard safety protocols.
The coalition did not disclose the timing of the missile launches beyond confirming they occurred on Sunday but emphasized its continued efforts to defend Saudi territory from Houthi missile and drone attacks amid ongoing conflict in Yemen.
