Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, HE Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, held separate meetings on Monday with senior officials from Somalia and Libya during the Consultative Meeting of Arab Foreign Ministers in Amman, Jordan.
Al Muraikhi met with Ali Mohamed Omar, Somalia’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, to discuss bilateral relations and identify opportunities to strengthen cooperation between the two countries. The discussions also covered a range of topics of mutual interest, reflecting ongoing efforts to deepen diplomatic engagement.
In addition, Al Muraikhi held talks with Taher Salem Al Baour, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Libya’s Government of National Unity. The officials reviewed existing collaborative frameworks and explored paths to enhance cooperation across various sectors. The meeting also provided a platform to exchange perspectives on regional and international matters affecting both nations.
These engagements took place against the backdrop of the Consultative Meeting of Arab Foreign Ministers, which serves as a forum to address collective diplomatic priorities and foster regional coordination. Qatar’s meetings with Somali and Libyan counterparts underscore its commitment to expanding diplomatic ties and supporting stability in the region.
