The 28th Asian Men’s Club League Handball Championship, currently hosted by Kuwait Club, has drawn praise from key figures for its organization and competitive quality. Burgan Club President Anwar Al-Otaibi commended the logistical arrangements, including accommodation, coordination, and facilities, noting that participating teams had expressed overall satisfaction with the services provided. He attributed these standards to the established organizational capabilities of the host, Kuwait Club.

Al-Otaibi also highlighted Burgan Club’s historic achievement in reaching the semi-finals in its inaugural appearance at the continental tournament, which serves as a qualifying event for the 2026 IHF Men’s Super Globe in Egypt. He credited the team’s success to careful planning by the club’s board, as well as the efforts of its technical staff and players. The club’s recent strategic signings, Al-Otaibi said, have significantly contributed to elevating performance levels, reflecting Burgan’s ambition to compete for titles instead of simply participating. He expressed hope that both Burgan and Kuwait Club will advance to the final, envisioning an all-Kuwaiti showdown that could enhance the sport’s profile nationally.

Kuwait Club Vice President Bader Al-Osaimi echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that the tournament has been well-organized on both administrative and competitive fronts. He noted strong participation from Gulf-region clubs and highlighted the energized atmosphere created by the sizeable presence of Gulf fans and media, which he expects to intensify in the knockout phases. According to Al-Osaimi, the technical standard throughout the championship has been high, with teams showcasing strong and well-prepared performances.

Al-Osaimi reaffirmed Kuwait Club’s determination to vie for the title, referencing their prior success in securing an Asian championship. He acknowledged recent fluctuations in the team’s form, attributing them to a suspension of sporting activities in Kuwait lasting over three months. The coaching staff is reportedly committed to restoring peak fitness and performance levels in preparation for the remainder of the competition. Like Al-Otaibi, he expressed optimism that the final could feature both Kuwaiti clubs, which would represent a significant achievement for the nation’s handball community.
