Al-Rish Diwaniya in Kuwait City recently hosted a delegation featuring Dalal Abdullah Khaled Al-Saif, president of the Political Science Club, and Eng. Sarah Faisal Abdullah Al-Kharji, Kuwaiti Ambassador for Peace. The visit coincided with the launch of the initiative “The Amir in Our Hearts,” which aims to produce a book capturing messages of loyalty and affection toward His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Contributions to the publication will come from a range of prominent figures, including ministers, governors, diwaniya owners, diplomats, and cultural and media representatives.
The book is designed to serve as a national record highlighting the close bond between the Amir and the Kuwaiti people, reflecting the values of loyalty and national identity that characterize Kuwaiti society.
Fahad Al-Rish, representing the diwaniya’s regular attendees, welcomed the delegation warmly. Al-Saif expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to participate in the event and praised the Kuwait Armed Forces for their role in safeguarding the nation, alongside recognizing the patriotism of the Kuwaiti population. During her remarks, she told Al-Rish attendees, “You are the sons of His Highness the Amir, not just the sons of Al-Rish.” Al-Rish relayed that the Amir himself had conveyed a similar sentiment during a visit to Bayan Palace, stating: “Al-Sabah is Al-Rish, and Al-Rish is Al-Sabah.”
Al-Saif underscored the significance of the Al-Sabah family to Kuwait’s history, noting that each Amir leaves a distinctive legacy. She described His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad as a leader blessed with wisdom and deeply loved by the people.
Fahad Al-Rish highlighted the importance of the visit, emphasizing the pride shared by the diwaniya’s patrons. He noted that the Amir’s approach centers on fostering direct communication and building trust between the leadership and citizens. Al-Rish described the Amir’s interest in diwaniyas as consistent with his commitment to engaging with the fabric of Kuwaiti society.
He affirmed that diwaniyas extend beyond hospitality venues—they are longstanding social, political, cultural, and economic forums integral to national unity. According to Al-Rish, these gatherings promote consultation, dialogue, solidarity, and preserve an essential aspect of Kuwaiti identity.
Women from the Al-Rish family, Munira Saleh Al-Rish and Amal Abdullah Al-Rish, reaffirmed the people’s loyalty and support for His Highness the Amir. They stressed the collective conviction that Kuwait’s strength stems from the unity of its citizens and unwavering backing of its leadership. Both praised the Amir’s steady, competent guidance toward the nation’s progress and prayed for his continued protection and the country’s security and stability.
Dr. Salma Abdullah Hamad Al-Rish, acting supervisor for secondary education in Hawally Educational District, emphasized that renewing allegiance to Kuwait and its leadership is a national duty. She emphasized the importance of abiding by the Constitution and state laws as expressions of good citizenship, which contribute to national security, stability, and unity. Dr. Salma highlighted the role of educational institutions in fostering loyalty, respect for law and order, and national identity among youth, preparing them to sustain the nation’s development.
Participants agreed that “The Amir in Our Hearts” project symbolizes the deep-rooted connection between the leadership and the populace, founded on trust, love, and loyalty. They described the initiative as a testament to Kuwaiti societal cohesion and a reaffirmation of diwaniyas as vital social institutions preserving national memory and promoting patriotism and civic engagement.
