The Kuwait Handball Federation is scheduled to hold supplementary elections for its board of directors on October 3 at 7 p.m. local time, at the federation’s headquarters in Daiya. The elections aim to fill the vacant positions of president and assistant secretary-general following the resignations of former president Engineer Fouad Al-Bloushi and assistant secretary-general Abdullah Al-Dhayab.
Engineer Ahmed Al-Shuraieh, the former president of Al-Qurain Club, is the sole candidate for the presidency and is expected to be elected by acclamation. The assistant secretary-general role will see a competitive race between Falah Menahi Al-Azmi, representing Shabab Club, and Mohammed Al-Khamis from Kazma Club.
The Ordinary General Assembly will commence once the quorum is met, at which point members will review the election guidelines, cast their votes, and subsequently announce and ratify the results. These supplementary elections come at a critical time for Kuwaiti handball, as the domestic season is about to begin, alongside various upcoming international fixtures.
Completing the federation’s leadership structure is anticipated to enhance the administrative oversight of the sport, facilitating development initiatives for national teams as well as management of domestic competitions in the forthcoming period.
