In the seventh round of the Zain Premier League on Saturday, Al-Sulaibikhat and Al-Salmiya played to a dramatic 2-2 draw at the Friendship and Peace Stadium, while Al-Tadamon secured a 3-2 comeback victory over Al-Sahel at their home ground.
Al-Sulaibikhat opened the scoring early, with Lucas Souza finding the net in the 20th minute. Al-Salmiya responded just before halftime when Mubarak Al-Fannini leveled the score at 1-1. The game remained tightly contested in the second half, with both sides pressing for the lead. In stoppage time, Al-Salmiya appeared to have clinched the win when Tresor scored in the 94th minute. However, Al-Sulaibikhat managed to equalize again during added time, as Abdullah Al-Awadi scored in the 101st minute to salvage a point for his team. Following the match, Al-Salmiya accumulated 10 points and climbed to fifth place in the league standings, while Al-Sulaibikhat remained in 11th place with four points.
Elsewhere, at the Al-Tadamon Club Stadium, Al-Tadamon recorded their first league win of the season with a 3-2 victory against Al-Sahel. Al-Sahel struck first when Fadel Al-Sarraf scored in the 11th minute. Al-Tadamon responded midway through the first half, with Abdulrahman Al-Rashidi leveling the score in the 40th minute. Al-Rashidi continued his impactful performance in the second half, scoring his second goal in the 72nd minute to put his team ahead. Just three minutes later, Saud Qasim extended the lead to 3-1. Al-Sahel’s Alin de Souza reduced the deficit in the 87th minute, but this was not enough to prevent Al-Tadamon from securing all three points. With this win, Al-Tadamon moved up to 12th place with three points, while Al-Sahel remained 10th with four points.
These results contribute to an increasingly competitive mid-table in the Zain Premier League as teams push for higher rankings in the ongoing season.
