Comedian Alan Carr is set to join the panel of judges on the upcoming season of The Masked Singer, promising to bring a new level of insight to the ITV music competition. The show, hosted by Joel Dommett, features celebrities performing in elaborate costumes while a panel of judges attempts to guess their identities.
Carr, 50, will take on a unique role in the new season by leading a team of "wild card" detectives, adding a fresh dynamic to the existing judging lineup. This shift positions him as a direct rival to the returning judges Jonathan Ross, Maya Jama, Mo Gilligan, and Davina McCall.
“I’m going to bring something they desperately need – intelligence,” Carr said, signaling his intention to elevate the guessing game. His addition aims to introduce a new element of strategy as judges navigate the mystery of the masked performers.
The Masked Singer is scheduled to return next year, with its new format designed to heighten the competitive element among judges while maintaining the show’s popular blend of music, mystery, and entertainment.
