Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has expressed enthusiasm about playing in the high-pressure environment of Celtic Park as he prepares for the upcoming Scottish Premiership season. The midfielder, who joined Celtic on a short-term contract in February, played a key role in helping the club secure a domestic double during that period. Following that success, he has committed to the team with a new contract signed this summer.

The 32-year-old, who has previously won numerous trophies including the English Premier League, FA Cup, and the UEFA Champions League, said he thrives under pressure and values the competitive atmosphere at Celtic. Oxlade-Chamberlain highlighted the challenge as a motivating factor, recalling how the opportunity to join the club felt like a chance to contribute experience and moments of quality to drive the team forward.

“When the opportunity to come here last year came up, the fact that it was going to be a challenge, I really enjoyed that,” he said. “I’m fortunate enough to have been in teams where there is an expectation to win but also, at the same time, the reality is there’s a lot of really, really good teams that make it really hard to win. I thrive in that pressure cooker. That’s exactly the same mentality that’s here.”

Oxlade-Chamberlain also noted the influence of both ambitious young players and experienced teammates in maintaining a high standard at the club. He emphasized the importance of being motivated by his peers, including those who have previously achieved significant success but still seek to win more trophies.

“That helps me bring the most out of myself at this point in my career,” he added. “Having that and having the hunger and young players pushing and striving to be the best they can, that’s massive. Then you see guys in the dressing room that have won lots that still want to win. Seeing that and being next to that helps you to keep pushing and keep that motivation, even at this later stage in my career.”

Celtic is set to open their Premiership campaign against Dundee, with Oxlade-Chamberlain expected to play a pivotal role as the club aims to continue its recent success.
