Alfardan Corporation is taking part in the 11th edition of Qatar Sustainability Week (QSW) 2026 as a Community Partner through its sustainability programme, Athar. The event, which runs until November 7, is organised by Qatar’s Ministry of Environment and Climate Change in collaboration with Earthna: Centre for a Sustainable Future, part of Qatar Foundation. It aims to unite various organisations and institutions across the country to promote sustainability awareness and encourage businesses and communities to adopt environmentally responsible practices.
Alfardan Corporation’s involvement underscores its ongoing dedication to integrating sustainability into its operations and advancing practical initiatives that generate measurable outcomes. The company has been a participant in the UN Global Compact since 2022, aligning its efforts with the Compact’s 10 Principles as well as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Athar, Alfardan Corporation’s sustainability framework, is structured around three core pillars: empowering people, protecting the planet, and strengthening partnerships. This integrated approach guides the company’s efforts to translate sustainability commitments into tangible actions and lasting benefits.
During Qatar Sustainability Week, Alfardan Corporation will be supported by its subsidiaries Alfardan Properties, Alfardan Automotive, Safwa, and The St. Regis hotels in a range of activities designed to engage both the business community and the wider public. These events include a community basketball game at Al Gassar, sustainability workshops at Nest, a trivia competition for commercial tenants, and the Green Run for All, which aims to foster community participation in sustainable practices.
Fardan Fahad Alfardan, Chief Operating Officer of Wahet Al Shaflahiya & Safwa and a member of Athar’s Sustainability Committee, highlighted the Green Loop initiative as an example of practical sustainability efforts. This programme focuses on recycling food waste and converting it into useful resources, thereby reducing environmental impact and supporting long-term sustainability goals.
Sara Fahad Alfardan, Corporate Chief Communications and PR Officer and fellow committee member, emphasised the importance of collective action in achieving sustainability. She noted that meaningful progress requires collaboration among organisations, communities, and individuals, and that Alfardan Corporation’s participation in Qatar Sustainability Week aims to raise awareness and inspire practical actions that create lasting value for current and future generations.
