Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has been fined £8,000 by the Football Association (FA) following an incident during a Premier League match against Nottingham Forest last month. The 33-year-old Brazilian was penalized after kicking an electronic substitution board in a display of frustration during the 2-2 draw.

The episode occurred shortly after the fourth official encountered difficulties in preparing the substitution board for Forest manager Andoni Iraola’s decision to make a triple substitution. At that point, the score was tied at 1-1 around the 70th minute. Following the delay, Nottingham Forest quickly restarted play with a throw-in, during which defender Neco Williams advanced into Liverpool’s penalty area. Alisson brought Williams down, resulting in a penalty that gave Forest a 2-1 lead.

After Liverpool managed to equalize, Alisson was seen walking past the electronic substitution board positioned on the ground near the tunnel. Video footage circulated on social media captured the goalkeeper kicking the board in apparent frustration.

In addition to the fine, Becker had previously received a yellow card for disputing with the referee during the substitution confusion. The FA’s decision to impose the £8,000 fine underlines the governing body’s stance on maintaining discipline and respect for match officials and equipment.
