HarperCollins has removed all books by children’s author David Walliams from its catalogue following allegations of inappropriate behaviour toward female staff. The publisher confirmed that it would no longer sell existing titles by Walliams, in addition to having previously announced plans to cease publishing any new works from the 55-year-old author.

The decision comes after a female junior employee filed a complaint, which prompted further allegations and an internal review. HarperCollins emphasized its commitment to employee wellbeing in announcing the action. Remaining stock of Walliams’ books will be gradually withdrawn from physical retailers, and digital editions, including e-books and audiobooks, will be removed from online platforms.

Walliams has strongly denied any wrongdoing. A spokesperson for the author stated that he was not involved in the investigation and was not given an opportunity to respond to the allegations. Walliams’ representatives have been contacted regarding the recent developments but have yet to provide additional comment.

This marks a significant escalation from HarperCollins, which initially suspended future collaborations with Walliams following the initial complaints. The full removal of his back catalogue reflects the publisher’s ongoing response to the situation amid growing scrutiny.
