Josh Allen led the Buffalo Bills to a narrow 33-30 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders in a closely contested game on Sunday in Las Vegas. Allen completed 255 passing yards and two touchdowns, while demonstrating his agility and improvisational skill, including a key throw that tied the franchise career touchdown passing record held by Hall of Famer Jim Kelly.
The Raiders, who have now dropped three consecutive games and hold a 3-3 record, rallied from behind to tie the score at 23-all during the contest. However, Buffalo, improving to 5-1, regained control late in the fourth quarter. Running back James Cook capped a sustained drive with a three-yard touchdown run with 4:43 remaining, putting the Bills ahead for good. Later, kicker Tyler Bass extended the lead with a 38-yard field goal at 1:56, creating a two-possession margin that proved decisive.
Allen’s touchdown record-tying connection came in the third quarter when he narrowly avoided a sack and delivered a 12-yard pass to Keon Coleman. With the completion, Allen reached 258 career touchdown passes, matching Kelly’s franchise mark. Despite his passing success, Allen’s streak of five consecutive games with a rushing touchdown ended, leaving him one shy of the Super Bowl-era record held by Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields.
The game also included a notable disciplinary incident when Bills safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson was ejected late in the first half. Gardner-Johnson, who is now with his sixth NFL team in six seasons, was penalized for spitting at Raiders center Tyler Linderbaum.
Buffalo’s ability to withstand the Raiders’ late comeback effort and capitalize on key scoring opportunities helped maintain their strong start to the season. The Bills will look to build on this momentum as they continue their NFL campaign.
