AlRayan Bank has commenced the execution phase of its Government-to-Bank (G2B) Digital Integration Initiative, a strategic effort aimed at enhancing digital collaboration between the bank and government entities. The project seeks to establish an advanced digital framework that leverages trusted data sources and modern technologies to improve banking services, operational efficiency, risk management, and fraud prevention.
The initiative involves completing the necessary technical, operational, and governance requirements in coordination with relevant government and regulatory bodies. The bank intends to create a more efficient, secure, and scalable banking infrastructure that aligns with approved regulatory standards and authorized data access rights.
Key objectives include enhancing customer verification processes, streamlining procedures to reduce reliance on paper-based documentation, and accelerating verification and decision-making. The bank expects these improvements to boost service efficiency and long-term productivity. Fraud risk management is a central pillar of the initiative, with the secure integration of data anticipated to enable early detection of risk indicators, fraud attempts, and identity theft, thereby strengthening customer protection and reducing potential losses.
Fahad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Group Chief Executive Officer of AlRayan Bank, described the initiative as a strategic milestone in building a more integrated and innovative digital banking ecosystem. He emphasized the project’s role in laying the foundation for a scalable digital platform that enhances customer experience, operational efficiency, and risk management capabilities while supporting future investments in digital infrastructure.
Houssam Itani, Group Chief Strategy and Technology Officer, highlighted the initiative’s contribution to the bank’s digital transformation goals by fostering a connected and efficient technological infrastructure. He noted that secure integration with trusted data sources enables faster, more agile digital services and improved decision-making while adhering to high standards of information security, governance, and data protection.
Abdulla Yousef Al-Sherawi, Assistant General Manager of Fraud Risk Management, underlined the importance of the initiative in advancing identity verification and fraud prevention through digital integration. He added that it aims to improve risk detection and support the development of more effective security models for digital services.
AlRayan Bank is implementing the initiative in alignment with Qatar’s regulatory requirements on information security, data protection, privacy, and governance. The effort supports Qatar’s broader digital transformation ambitions outlined in the Qatar National Vision 2030 and aims to foster a more connected, efficient, and resilient financial ecosystem by promoting innovation, efficiency, and security within banking and government interactions.
