AlRayan Bank reported a net profit of QR978 million for the first nine months of 2026, marking a 26% decline compared to the same period last year. The bank attributed the decrease primarily to lower net operating income and the impact of global minimum taxes, partially offset by reduced impairments.
Total assets rose 5% year-on-year to QR184.4 billion, supported by an 8% increase in investment securities, which reached QR50.3 billion, and a 2% rise in financing assets to QR115.9 billion. The growth in financing assets was mainly driven by corporate and international operations. Customer deposits grew 8% to QR122.8 billion, with contributions coming from both current, savings and account (CASA) deposits as well as non-CASA deposits.
Net operating income declined 10% year-on-year to QR2.44 billion, mainly due to a reduction in other income related to recoveries. The net profit margin decreased by 5 basis points to 1.48% over the period and narrowed by 4 basis points quarter-on-quarter. The bank’s cost-to-income ratio increased by 3.8 percentage points to 30.7%, while the cost of risk fell by 12 basis points year-on-year to 0.60%.
AlRayan Bank reported a non-performing financing (NPF) ratio improvement of 26 basis points to 5.1%. Capital and liquidity metrics remained robust, with a Tier 1 ratio of 24.4%, a Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) of 25.6%, a Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR) of 157.2%, and a Net Stable Funding Ratio (NSFR) of 110.3%. Return on equity declined 1.9 percentage points to 5.4%.
Chairman HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim al-Thani emphasized the bank’s resilience amid a challenging regional environment and reaffirmed its focus on disciplined growth, customer service, and innovation under the LEAD strategy. “We are scaling execution across our priority areas, reflected in a stronger funding base and improving financing mix,” he said, highlighting the bank’s commitment to long-term value creation and support for Qatar’s economic development.
Acting CEO Omar al-Emadi noted progress in the bank’s core operations, citing a 1% year-on-year increase in net financing and investment income in the third quarter supported by improved pricing discipline. He also pointed to a 2.7 percentage point rise in the CASA ratio to 20.1%, further strengthening the funding base.
