Mohamed Naser Al Sayer & Sons Est. Co. W.L.L, in partnership with Toyota, unveiled the ninth generation of the Toyota Hilux pickup truck on October 3 in Kuwait City. The launch event took place at the Grand Avenue of Avenues Mall and drew hundreds of visitors, including prominent social media influencers and senior Toyota officials, such as Martin Aherne, Senior Business Director of Toyota Group Sales, Ian Tuttiett, General Manager of Toyota Retail, and Hamad Al-Fouzan, Deputy General Manager of Product Planning and Sales Administration.

The Toyota Hilux, first introduced in 1968, has established a global reputation for its quality, durability, and reliability. The latest iteration maintains this legacy while introducing significant enhancements in comfort, handling, safety technologies, and design. The model is positioned as a versatile vehicle suited for commercial, private, and mixed-use customers who require a dependable pickup capable of performing well in diverse environments.

According to Satoki Oya, Chief Engineer at Toyota Motor Corporation, the new Hilux builds on its core strengths by combining ruggedness with greater comfort and advanced driver-assistance features. “Developed to conquer the world’s toughest environments,” Oya said, the vehicle offers improved on- and off-road capabilities alongside refined safety systems to boost driver confidence. Anyarat Sutthibenjakul, Regional Chief Engineer for Toyota Motor Asia, emphasized that the model’s development incorporated regional preferences, underscoring the brand’s responsiveness to different markets.

The new Hilux offers both diesel and petrol engine options to cater to varying operational needs and preferences. Enhancements include increased body rigidity, refined engine and cabin mounts to reduce vibration, and the adoption of Electric Power Steering for improved handling and stability. These changes contribute to a smoother ride and more responsive driving experience both in urban settings and off-road conditions.

Design-wise, the vehicle embraces a “Tough and Agile” concept, combining a robust, rugged exterior with more dynamic proportions. The front fascia features a modernized yet recognizable look characterized by a wide horizontal stance and sculpted surfaces. Eighteen-inch alloy wheels and an expanded palette of color choices—including new Ash and Sulfur Metallic finishes—allow for greater customization. Toyota also offers an Overland Package aimed at customers seeking a more adventurous style.

Inside, the Hilux cabin has been redesigned for improved functionality and user-friendliness, integrating technology such as a 12.3-inch Display Audio system and a 12.3-inch Multi-Information Display. Safety and convenience are further advanced with technologies like Toyota Safety Sense, which includes Pre-Collision System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitor, Panoramic View Monitor, and Parking Support Brake.

Simon Humphries, Chief Branding Officer at Toyota Motor Corporation, highlighted the model’s connection to diverse communities and lifestyles. He noted that the Hilux has evolved based on real customer feedback to meet professional demands, family needs, and lifestyle aspirations without compromising its fundamental qualities.

By combining proven reliability with modern comforts and safety features, the all-new Hilux aims to remain a dependable partner for work, family, and adventure well into the future.
