Amazon Prime Video is set to release a documentary series next year featuring previously undisclosed recordings of Princess Diana discussing the breakdown of her marriage. The series, titled *Diana: Her Secret Confessions*, will present five hours of audio recordings made in 1991, offering insights into Diana’s views on her former husband, now King Charles III, Camilla Parker-Bowles, their sons William and Harry, as well as other figures including Sarah Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

The tapes were recorded by Diana’s friend, Dr. James Colthurst, who is reported to have secretly removed the recordings from Kensington Palace and passed them to Andrew Morton. Morton used portions of these recordings to write the 1992 book *Diana: Her True Story — In Her Own Words*. The forthcoming documentary is being produced by Love Monday TV, the same company behind ITV’s 2024 documentary *Her Majesty The Queen: Behind Closed Doors*, which featured Camilla Parker-Bowles speaking about domestic abuse awareness.

Kerene Barefield, creative director at Love Monday TV, described the series as an opportunity for Diana "to reclaim and reframe her own story." Barefield emphasized that the Princess of Wales has often been depicted as a victim, with her narrative shaped predominantly by men in positions of power. By granting exclusive access to the full set of tapes for the first time, alongside interviews with individuals who knew Diana personally, the program aims to present "a strong woman who is risking everything to take control" of her legacy.

Both Colthurst and Morton are set to appear in the documentary, alongside publisher Michael O’Mara, to discuss the challenges Diana faced and the risks involved in sharing her story amid intense public and media scrutiny.

Amazon’s interest in royal documentaries comes amid a broader strategy involving content related to the British monarchy. Earlier this year, the streaming platform aired *Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision*, a documentary focusing on King Charles III. Additionally, Amazon is reportedly pursuing a collaboration deal with Prince Harry’s Invictus Games organization.

The release of *Diana: Her Secret Confessions* will mark a significant addition to the extensive public exploration of the late Princess’s life and legacy, providing a direct channel for her personal reflections more than three decades after the tapes were first recorded.
