Persistent traffic congestion in the Ambad MIDC industrial estate in Nashik has prompted concern among local entrepreneurs, who have warned of potential agitation if the situation does not improve. Industrialists have repeatedly highlighted the adverse impact of traffic snarls on daily operations, citing deteriorating road conditions and unattended potholes as key factors exacerbating the problem.

In response to mounting pressure, a meeting was held at AIMA Hall, initiated by AIMA President Rajendra Pansare, to discuss immediate remedial measures. Officials from the Municipal Corporation and the Traffic Department, including Traffic Police Officer Manoj Vise and Deputy Engineer Hemant Nandurdikar, participated in the discussions and pledged to bring the situation under control within two days.

Entrepreneurs present at the meeting expressed frustration over the lack of progress despite several prior discussions. They emphasized that ongoing roadwork between Garware and Exlo Point has further hindered traffic flow, leading to significant delays within the industrial estate. The group proposed a series of urgent measures to alleviate congestion and improve safety.

These proposals included prompt filling of potholes and the widening of roadside shoulders on key routes such as Power House, Glasgow, and RP Sweets roads, utilizing heavy machinery like JCBs. Additionally, the removal of hazardous tree stumps along these corridors was recommended to enhance driver safety.

To ease container traffic congestion, entrepreneurs suggested rerouting overloaded vehicles through alternative pathways including Vasali Road. The installation of proper signboards on approach roads, the expansion of alternative routes, and stricter enforcement against vehicles lacking valid registration numbers were also cited as necessary steps to streamline traffic movement.

Authorities have acknowledged these concerns and committed to implementing corrective actions swiftly to restore smoother transit within the industrial area. The next 48 hours will be critical in measuring the effectiveness of the proposed interventions and addressing the persistent challenges affecting the Ambad MIDC industrial estate.
