Kuwait’s participation in the 19th Dubrovnik Forum in Croatia underscores its commitment to multilateral dialogue and cooperation amid evolving global challenges, according to Ambassador Najeeb Al-Bader, Kuwait’s Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs. The event, held on June 26-27 under the theme “The Age of Multipolarity: Many Directions, One Future,” provided a platform for strategic discussions on pressing international issues.
Heading Kuwait’s delegation, Ambassador Al-Bader engaged in ministerial sessions and high-level talks alongside foreign ministers and representatives from various international organizations. The agenda addressed significant geopolitical shifts in the global order, energy security concerns, developments in artificial intelligence, and the broader landscape of technological competition. Participants also focused on maritime security, the protection of international navigation routes, resilience of global supply chains, international trade dynamics, and the prospects of digital transformation amid current global uncertainties.
Ambassador Al-Bader emphasized that Kuwait’s involvement in the forum reflects its diplomatic approach of fostering dialogue and multilateralism to contribute constructively to global peace and security. He highlighted the importance of such international gatherings in exchanging views on global and regional developments, thereby enhancing mutual understanding among nations.
Apart from the forum’s plenary sessions, Ambassador Al-Bader held bilateral meetings with Croatian officials, including Foreign and European Affairs Minister Gordan Grlic Radman and Political Affairs Director-General Dr. Tomislav Lendic. These discussions focused on evaluating Kuwait-Croatia relations and exploring opportunities to deepen cooperation across diverse sectors to benefit both countries. The officials also exchanged perspectives on regional and international matters of mutual concern.
In addition, Ambassador Al-Bader met with Luigi Di Maio, the European Union Special Representative for the Gulf Region. Their talks included reviewing recent regional and international developments and considering avenues to strengthen collaboration between Kuwait and the European Union.
The Dubrovnik Forum, recognized as a leading platform for global strategic dialogue, brought together a wide range of international stakeholders aiming to address shared challenges through multilateral engagement and cooperation.
