His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has extended condolences to France following the death of former Prime Minister Edouard Balladur. A cable expressing sympathy was sent to French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday.

Similarly, His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani conveyed his condolences to President Macron in a separate message. At the same time, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani, addressed a letter of condolence to French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu.

The communications reflect Qatar’s formal recognition of Balladur’s passing and offer condolences to the French leadership and people. Edouard Balladur, who served as France’s prime minister from 1993 to 1995, was a prominent figure in French politics, and his death has drawn responses from various international leaders.
