His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met with Igor Sechin, CEO of Russia’s oil company Rosneft, on October 27, 2026, at his residence in Moscow. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 8th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Member Countries of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), held at the World Trade Center in Moscow.

The discussions focused on existing cooperation between Qatar and Rosneft in the energy sector, as well as potential opportunities to expand their collaboration. The two sides explored ways to strengthen bilateral partnerships amid evolving global energy markets.

The meeting was attended by Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani, along with Abdullah bin Mohammed al-Khulaifi, Chief of the Amiri Diwan. The engagement underscores Qatar’s continued efforts to deepen ties with international energy companies and diversify its strategic partnerships.
