Qatar’s Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani engaged in separate telephone conversations on May 23 with leaders from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and the United States, emphasizing diplomatic efforts to promote regional stability and security.
In a call with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, Sheikh Tamim highlighted the strong fraternal ties between Qatar and the UAE and discussed opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation across various sectors. The two leaders also exchanged views on recent regional and international developments and underscored the importance of advancing political solutions to support security and stability in the Middle East.
During a separate conversation with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, the Amir reiterated the deep-rooted relations between Qatar and Saudi Arabia, focusing on ways to further strengthen collaboration to meet the aspirations of their populations. The dialogue included discussions on regional and international issues, with both sides emphasizing diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions. They stressed the need for comprehensive and lasting solutions that address the underlying causes of regional crises and contribute to sustainable security.
Sheikh Tamim also spoke with US President Donald Trump, focusing on developments in the region and ongoing international attempts to maintain calm. The two leaders discussed support for diplomatic initiatives led by Pakistan aimed at preventing further escalation in the region and preserving global peace and security. The conversation covered the importance of continued dialogue to resolve current challenges, ensuring maritime security, safeguarding strategic waterways, and maintaining the uninterrupted flow of international supply and energy chains.
