KUWAIT CITY — On May 16 and 17, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, acting as the representative of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, engaged in a series of high-level meetings with global leaders during the EU-Gulf Geopolitical and Investment Summit held in Greece.

Among the key meetings, Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah received Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad bin Abduarrahman Al-Thani. The discussions focused on strengthening longstanding ties and exploring future avenues to enhance cooperation between Kuwait and Qatar, with special emphasis on regional security and stability. Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, along with his office director Abdullah Al-Obaidi, attended the session.

The Kuwaiti Prime Minister also met with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and his delegation. The talks, which included Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, covered issues pertinent to the summit but were not detailed.

In another significant engagement, Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah held bilateral discussions with Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank (ECB). The meetings addressed ways to deepen collaboration between Kuwait and the ECB, along with considerations on mutual interests.

Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah further met with President Alexander Stubb of Finland and President Nikos Christodoulides of Cyprus. During these meetings, he conveyed the greetings of the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah to both leaders, extending wishes for their countries’ continued progress and prosperity. Discussions reviewed the existing strong relations between Kuwait and both Finland and Cyprus, focusing on opportunities to expand cooperation across various fields for the mutual benefit of all parties involved. Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah accompanied the Prime Minister in these meetings.

These series of engagements highlight Kuwait’s commitment to fostering international partnerships amid evolving geopolitical and economic landscapes, underscoring the country’s strategic role in regional and global affairs.
