Amo Racing’s new partnership with trainer Emmet Mullins began with a notable victory on Sunday as Dallas Star won on his hurdling debut at Navan. The collaboration, officially announced earlier this week, involves Amo Racing supporting Mullins as he transitions to Jim Bolger’s Coolcullen yard.

Dallas Star, previously campaigned successfully on the flat by trainers Adrian Murray and Robson De Aguiar, was a competitor in the 2024 Derby and had reached a peak rating of 107. After being sent to Mullins to make the switch to jumps racing, the horse demonstrated adaptability and speed in his first hurdles contest.

During the race, Dallas Star faced a challenge as the last hurdle was left out of the course, requiring the horse to rely heavily on his flat racing speed. Despite this, Dallas Star, starting as the 15-8 favorite, managed to hold off a late challenge from En Or, securing victory by half a length under jockey Donagh Meyler.

The result marks an encouraging start for Mullins and Amo Racing’s joint venture, with expectations that the partnership will continue to develop as the horse progresses in his jumping career.
