In a parody segment of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” she delivered a cryptic line — “Saccharide, Aries, from the vineyard, north or south” — that sparked widespread fan interpretation. Earlier in the summer, Swift released “I Knew It, I Knew You” for the soundtrack of the upcoming film “Toy Story 5,” a track with a more folksy sound that led some observers to anticipate a return to her country roots or expectations for the release of her Taylor’s Version re-recording of her debut album.

Instead, Swift’s recent announcements suggest she continues to focus on pop music. She is also poised to break her tie with Beyoncé as the most awarded artist in MTV Video Music Awards history. This weekend, Swift will receive the inaugural Artist Director Honors at the VMAs ceremony, to be broadcast on CBS and MTV with premium streaming available on Paramount+. The accolade recognizes musicians who have made significant contributions to music video production and visual storytelling. This will mark Swift’s 31st MTV VMA, further cementing her standing in the industry.
