Knight, who shares carries with Anthony Woods and Jaivian Thomas, has been a standout contributor, leading the team in rushing despite a relatively limited number of touches.

Knight’s playing style has been described as elusive and physical. His ability to navigate through defensive lines and accelerate past defenders has made him a critical asset for UCLA’s offensive success. With only 21 carries so far, Knight has scored touchdowns on nearly 29% of his rushing attempts. This robust running attack has alleviated pressure on UCLA’s quarterback, Nico Iamaleava, who has experienced a modest start to the season. “I got to play way better,” Iamaleava acknowledged, noting the value of having a strong supporting cast on both offense and defense. After a scoreless first half against San Diego State, Knight’s consistent ground game helped secure a 2-0 start, the team’s best since 2023 under coach Chip Kelly.
