Trainer Andrew Balding expressed optimism ahead of Royal Ascot’s second day, highlighting his prospects with Blue Bolt and Galiyan in key races.
Blue Bolt is set to compete in the Group 2 Duke of Cambridge Stakes following a strong return to form. The filly secured a Listed race victory at Goodwood, signaling significant improvement. Balding noted that Blue Bolt has progressed physically since last season and views the Duke of Cambridge Stakes as a favorable opportunity for her to build on that success.
Meanwhile, Balding also praised Galiyan, who is expected to run in the Queen’s Vase. The horse has attracted considerable backing ahead of the event. Galiyan previously achieved a notable win over a mile and a half at Chester. Balding described him as a quality thoroughbred and anticipates that the extended distance of the Queen’s Vase will suit the horse well.
Both runners form part of Balding’s well-regarded lineup for Royal Ascot, where expectations remain high for competitive performances.
