Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is scheduled to provide testimony in an upcoming trial involving allegations that a man threatened him near his home in Norfolk. The former royal reportedly had to flee with the late Queen’s corgis during the incident, which occurred in May in the village of Wolferton, close to his Marsh Farm residence on the Sandringham estate.

The accused, Alex Jenkinson, 39, allegedly exited a vehicle and charged at Mountbatten-Windsor while the latter was walking the dogs. According to court reports, an unarmed protection officer confronted Jenkinson and subsequently contacted the police. Jenkinson, hailing from King’s Lynn, faces charges of using threatening behavior with the intent to cause fear or violence. He has denied these accusations, as well as a separate charge relating to threatening another individual at the same location on the same day.

The case was set to be heard Wednesday at Westminster Magistrates’ Court but was postponed to December 21. The hearing is expected to last one day, during which Mountbatten-Windsor will give evidence via video link. Jenkinson was absent from the court session. He has been released on bail under the conditions that he avoids any contact with Mountbatten-Windsor or the other alleged victim and does not approach any royal residences.
