Ange Postecoglou has been appointed head coach of Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr, where he will manage Cristiano Ronaldo for the upcoming season. The Australian signed a two-year contract, taking over from Jorge Jesus.
Postecoglou, 60, returns to club management following a challenging period last year during which he was dismissed by Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest within a span of four months. Despite those setbacks, he previously led Tottenham to success, including winning the Europa League.
Before joining Al-Nassr, Postecoglou was also considered a leading candidate for the Scotland national team managerial position, which became vacant after Steve Clarke’s departure. His move to Saudi Arabia represents a new chapter as Al-Nassr look to strengthen their squad with high-profile leadership and talent, including the presence of Ronaldo.
