The Los Angeles Angels have dismissed manager Kurt Suzuki following a disappointing 62-100 record during the 2023 season, marking the franchise’s first 100-loss campaign. Suzuki, who spent parts of the 2021 and 2022 seasons as a catcher for the Angels before retiring from a 16-year Major League Baseball career, served one season as the team's manager.

Despite the challenging year, the Angels have offered Suzuki a position within the organization as a special assistant, maintaining his involvement with the team in a different capacity. The move comes as the Angels seek to rebuild and improve their performance after one of the most difficult seasons in team history.
