The Los Angeles Angels secured a 6-5 victory over the Minnesota Twins in an 11-inning game on Sunday at Angel Stadium. The winning run came with two outs in the bottom of the 11th inning when Christian Moore delivered an infield single with the bases loaded. The ball deflected off Twins reliever Taylor Rogers’ leg, allowing Zach Neto to score the decisive run.

The game was marked by late rallies from both teams. The Twins held a 5-3 lead entering the eighth inning before the Angels began their comeback. Pinch-hitter Adam Frazier played a key role in narrowing the Twins’ advantage by doubling down the right-field line against reliever Yoendrys Gomez, driving in two runs to bring the Angels within one run at 5-4.

In the ninth inning, Vaughn Grissom tied the game with a solo home run, extending the contest into extra innings. Earlier in the game, the Angels’ Jose Siri had contributed a two-run home run in the fourth inning, while Minnesota’s Ryan Kreidler responded with a solo shot in the fifth inning.

Starting pitcher Reid Detmers worked five innings for the Angels, allowing four runs and six hits while striking out five batters. His 204 strikeouts this season represent the highest total for an Angels pitcher since Shohei Ohtani recorded 219 strikeouts in 2022. Reliever Tayler Saucedo earned the win after delivering a scoreless inning of relief in extra innings and is now 1-1 on the season.

The victory adds to the Angels’ late-season efforts as they continue their push in the American League standings. The Twins, meanwhile, were unable to hold their lead in the final innings, despite strong contributions from their bullpen and key hitters throughout the game.
