Longtime Fox 32 Chicago anchor Dawn Hasbrouck concluded her tenure at the station on June 30, marking the latest departure amid a series of exits from the broadcaster. Hasbrouck signed off during the 5 p.m. newscast, expressing gratitude to viewers for their trust and loyalty throughout her 16 years with the station.

A video tribute aired during her farewell included messages from current and former colleagues, among them Corey McPherrin, Hasbrouck’s former co-anchor on the 5 and 9 p.m. broadcasts. McPherrin praised her professionalism, deep connection to Chicago, and her composure under the pressures of live television.

Hasbrouck’s journalism career spans several markets. A Duke University graduate with a master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, she joined WFLD-Ch. 32 in 2010 after prior anchoring roles in Milwaukee, Boston, and Hartford, Connecticut. Upon arriving in Chicago, she initially co-anchored Fox 32’s morning program, “Good Day Chicago.” In 2013, she transitioned to co-anchor the station’s 9 p.m. newscast. Three years later, she became the inaugural co-anchor of Fox 32’s newly launched 5 p.m. newscast, adding to her on-air responsibilities.

Hasbrouck did not disclose her future plans but suggested her departure from Fox 32 is not the end of her career. “This is the beginning, not the end,” she said in her farewell remarks.

Her exit follows closely on the heels of Sylvia Pérez’s retirement from the station on June 12 after nearly 40 years in Chicago broadcasting. The recent departures underscore a period of significant talent turnover at Fox 32.
