Anya Taylor-Joy has shared insights into two of her defining passions: ballet and rave music. The actress, known for her role in the upcoming film *Dune Part III* and currently starring in the Apple TV+ thriller *Lucky*, described her interests as a reflection of her personality, balancing the discipline of ballet with the energy of deep, dark techno.
To mark her 30th birthday earlier this year, Taylor-Joy organized a party in Los Angeles on short notice, blending these dual influences into a single event. The gathering featured a heavy techno soundtrack curated by her friends, who served as DJs for the evening. Guests embraced a "Mount Olympus" dress code, wearing long white dresses or suits paired with flower crowns, creating an intentionally cult-like atmosphere.
Taylor-Joy, who was raised in London, commented on the event’s atmosphere and attendance: approximately 200 of her close friends joined the celebration on a Wednesday night. She acknowledged that while intense techno music may not appeal to everyone, her guests adapted and enjoyed the experience.
In addition to her professional work, Taylor-Joy spoke about her personal life, highlighting her marriage to U.S. musician Malcolm McRae, whom she wed in 2022. She expressed appreciation for the companionship and security the relationship provides, calling McRae her best friend and praising the sense of stability he has brought to her life.
The actress’s full discussion of her passions and personal reflections will be featured in the September issue of Elle UK, which is set to be available from August 6.
