Apple has introduced its AppleCare One subscription service to customers in the United Kingdom, offering protection for multiple Apple devices under a single monthly plan. Priced at £16.99 per month, the subscription covers up to three eligible gadgets such as iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple Watches.
The service provides repair or replacement for devices that are lost, stolen, or accidentally damaged, allowing up to three claims per year without additional questions. AppleCare One builds upon the existing AppleCare+ plan, which includes unlimited accidental damage repairs, battery servicing, and 24/7 priority access to Apple support in the UK. The key distinction is the ability to cover multiple devices under one subscription rather than purchasing separate plans for each product, simplifying coverage and potentially lowering costs.
Apple estimates that customers protecting an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch together could save as much as £11.48 per month compared to separate plans. The subscription can be applied to eligible devices up to four years old, provided they are in good condition, which marks a significant change from the previous policy requiring enrollment within 60 days of device purchase.
The plan also adjusts automatically when customers trade in an eligible device for a new one from Apple. The old device is removed from the subscription, and the new device is added without any user intervention, making it more convenient for users who frequently upgrade their products.
Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, highlighted the simplicity and flexibility of the new offering, stating that it enables customers in the UK to enjoy comprehensive protection across multiple Apple devices with one plan and one price. He emphasized the goal of providing users with peace of mind through this expanded coverage.
The introduction of AppleCare One aims to cater especially to customers who own several Apple products and seek a streamlined, cost-effective approach to device protection, particularly those prone to accidental damage or concerns about loss or theft.
