The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) in Qatar has announced the opening of the application period for the Qatar Education Excellence Award, set to run from October 1 to 31, 2026. Candidates interested in participating are encouraged to review the criteria and prepare the necessary documentation for submission through the award’s online platform during this time.
Maryam Abdullah al-Mohannadi, CEO of the Qatar Education Excellence Award, emphasized the award’s ongoing role in recognizing exceptional individuals within Qatar for their scientific, educational, and research accomplishments. She noted that the initiative aims not only to increase the number of awardees but also to foster a broad appreciation for excellence and its significance in personal and national development.
Al-Mohannadi stated that the award serves as a platform to enhance participants’ knowledge, refine their skills, and motivate them to further develop their potential. She expressed optimism that recipients would continue to build on their achievements and translate their success into meaningful contributions across educational, professional, research, and societal sectors, thereby advancing Qatar’s development goals.
The application portal will remain accessible until October 31, with results scheduled for announcement on February 4, 2027. An awards ceremony is planned for April 18. In preparation for this cycle, the award’s organizers conducted multiple virtual sessions earlier in the year. These sessions, held in June in collaboration with specialized committees, addressed nomination criteria, evaluation standards, and category-specific requirements, offering applicants opportunities for direct engagement and clarifications.
In September, an additional session focused on the electronic application system, guiding candidates through the submission process and document uploading procedures to facilitate smoother participation. The award also encourages potential applicants to utilize its Help Center available on the official website, which provides frequently asked questions related to eligibility, evaluation, and category requirements. In the previous award cycle of 2026, the program received 371 applications, marking a 34% increase from 2025. Among these, 108 candidates were honored, including 38 platinum medallists and 70 gold medallists.
The Qatar Education Excellence Award aligns with the country’s broader national strategies aimed at nurturing a culture of innovation and excellence. By recognizing outstanding achievements in education, science, and research, the award contributes to the development of human capital, supports the establishment of a knowledge-based society, and advances the objectives outlined in Qatar National Vision 2030.
