The Food Foundation, a UK-based charity focused on promoting affordable, healthy, and sustainable diets, is seeking to recruit several new trustees. The organisation aims to address the widespread impacts of poor diets and food insecurity, which it says impose significant costs on individuals, the National Health Service, employers, and the broader economy.
The charity’s work involves advocating for evidence-based solutions to be adopted by policymakers, businesses, and investors, with the goal of improving public health and food system sustainability across the country.
Applicants for the trustee positions are expected to have expertise in one or more relevant areas, such as food-related academic leadership and research, communications and campaigning, public affairs, politics at the national or regional level, economics, or fundraising from foundations and family offices. The Food Foundation also encourages applications from individuals who have personal experience with food poverty and those who are earlier in their careers, reflecting an interest in diverse perspectives.
The role is voluntary, with an anticipated time commitment of six to eight days per year. Meetings are generally held in person at the organisation’s London office. Interested candidates are invited to submit their applications by November 2.
