A delegation from Qatar's Sheikh Abdulla bin Zaid al-Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center, under the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf), recently traveled to Saudi Arabia to study Arabic language instruction for non-native speakers. The visit focused on examining the curricula, teaching methodologies, and educational technologies employed by leading Saudi institutions to enhance the Center’s own language education programs.

During the visit, the delegation engaged with representatives from the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, the Arabic Language Teaching Institute at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, and the College of Language Sciences at King Saud University. These institutions are recognized for their comprehensive approaches to Arabic language teaching and the integration of modern tools to support language acquisition.

The purpose of the trip was to gain insights into effective practices in Arabic language education, with an emphasis on adapting curricula and utilizing technological resources to better serve learners outside of native Arabic-speaking backgrounds. The delegation’s review is expected to inform future developments at the Sheikh Abdulla bin Zaid al-Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center, which oversees a range of educational and cultural initiatives within Qatar’s endowments framework.

This collaborative exchange underscores ongoing efforts in the Gulf region to promote the Arabic language and improve instructional standards for international students and educational programs catering to diverse populations.
