According to court documents, the stolen material has been sold for substantial sums on the dark web.

The legal filing states that in 2023 alone, 45 unreleased tracks belonging to Grande were hacked, stolen, and leaked. It further asserts that since the beginning of her career in 2011, hundreds of similar unauthorized leaks have occurred. The lawsuit aims to identify and hold accountable those responsible for the breaches.

Grande, known for her hit "Thank U, Next" and her role in "Wicked," is preparing to release her new album, "Petal," on Friday. The legal action reflects her determination to address the ongoing issue of her intellectual property being compromised and disseminated without permission.
