Pima County, Arizona — The leading police union in Pima County has issued a unanimous vote of no confidence against Sheriff Chris Nanos, calling for his resignation. The action by the Pima County Deputy's Organization (PCDO) comes as the search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, mother of television personality Savannah Guthrie, enters its eighth week.

The PCDO, which represents more than 300 deputies, announced its decision in a statement, citing Sheriff Nanos's "extensive disciplinary history" as the primary reason for the unanimous vote and the demand for his resignation.

While the union's official statement did not explicitly list the ongoing investigation into Ms. Guthrie's disappearance, Sheriff Nanos has faced public criticism for his leadership in the case in recent weeks.
