No. 25 Arizona secured a decisive 39-3 victory over Iowa State on Saturday in a Big 12 Conference matchup in Tucson, Arizona. The Wildcats capitalized early, scoring on their first four possessions to establish control of the game.

Arizona improved to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play, marking five consecutive wins for the second straight season—a feat the program had not achieved since the early 1990s. The Wildcats are now bowl eligible in consecutive seasons for the first time since 2014-15 and sit just one loss behind the conference leader in the Big 12 standings.

Quarterback Noah Fifita was a key contributor, completing 27 of 34 passes for 308 yards and two touchdowns. Fifita’s performance raised his career touchdown passes to 91, making him the active leader in FBS in that category. Defensively, linebacker Dash Fifita, who is in his first season, made significant plays with 2.5 tackles for loss and two sacks. Wide receiver Isaiah Mizell also had a standout game, catching eight passes for 134 yards and one touchdown.

Iowa State, now 3-4 overall and 1-3 in the Big 12, struggled against ranked opponents, falling to 0-4 in such contests this season. The Cyclones managed 221 total yards compared to Arizona’s 477. Iowa State’s starting quarterback Jaylen Raynor, who completed 8 of 10 passes for 106 yards, was replaced at halftime by Connor Moberly, who completed 7 of 17 passes for 63 yards. Running back Aidan Flora, ranked second in the Big 12 in rushing prior to the game, was limited to just 36 yards on 12 carries.

Arizona’s strong offensive and defensive performances underscored their continued push for a top spot in the competitive Big 12 race. Meanwhile, Iowa State faces the challenge of improving against higher-ranked opponents as they look to rebound in their upcoming games.
