The senior quarterback rushed 22 times for 104 yards and three touchdowns while completing 3 of 6 passes for 36 yards, guiding the Black Knights to their second win of the season.

Army (2-1, 1-1) relied heavily on its rushing attack, amassing 281 yards on the ground en route to extending its winning streak against Temple to five games. The Black Knights opened the scoring on their first possession, orchestrating a 77-yard, 12-play drive that consumed 7 minutes and 10 seconds. Hellums capped the drive with a 15-yard touchdown run to put Army ahead 7-0.

Temple (1-3) responded quickly, with Samuel Brown V breaking free for a 78-yard touchdown after catching a short pass from quarterback Ajari Sheppard on the second play of the Owls’ next drive, leveling the score at 7-7. Both teams remained tied through halftime.

In the third quarter, Hellums sparked another scoring march by converting a crucial fourth-and-4 pass to Godspower Nwawuie, then sprinting 12 yards for a touchdown on the very next play, giving Army a 14-7 lead. Temple answered with a 29-yard field goal by Carl Hardin following an 88-yard drive, reclaiming the lead 17-14 with 7:38 remaining in the game.

The final score came late in the fourth quarter as Hellums led a 12-play, 72-yard drive that took just over six minutes off the clock. He capped the march with a three-yard touchdown run that secured the victory for the Black Knights.
