Arne Slot is reportedly in discussions to become the next head coach of the Netherlands national football team. The former Liverpool manager has been without a club since his dismissal from Anfield on May 30, less than a year after leading the team to a Premier League title.

Slot’s tenure at Liverpool ended following a challenging second season in charge, during which the club suffered 20 defeats across all competitions. After parting ways with Liverpool, he spent the early summer on holiday with his family. Initial speculation linking Slot to the vacant managerial position at Fulham, following Marco Silva’s departure, subsided by early June.

According to reports, Slot is now negotiating to replace Ronald Koeman, who stepped down after the Netherlands were eliminated in the round of 32 at the FIFA World Cup. The Dutch team exited the tournament following a penalty shootout loss to Morocco. Slot’s appointment, if finalized, would mark a return to Dutch football, where he previously managed Feyenoord.
