Arsenal are reportedly considering a £35 million bid for Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis as they seek to strengthen their attacking options, particularly on the left flank. The Premier League champions face uncertainty over the futures of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, both of whom have been linked with departures this summer. Alongside Tzolis, Arsenal are also monitoring Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola, Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi, and Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers as possible signings.

Tzolis, 24, has garnered attention after an impressive spell with Club Brugge, where he scored 43 goals and provided 45 assists in 108 appearances. The Greek international played a pivotal role in Brugge’s recent successes, including winning the Belgian Pro League last season and the Belgian Cup in 2025. His performances continued to draw notice despite Brugge’s 3-0 defeat to Arsenal in the Champions League in December.

Before rising to prominence in Belgium, Tzolis endured a challenging period at Norwich City. The Canaries signed him from PAOK in 2021 for a club-record £11.5 million, but following the sacking of manager Daniel Farke, who supported Tzolis, his playing time diminished sharply under Dean Smith. After limited appearances in the Premier League and Championship, Tzolis eventually found himself relegated to the reserve team, a situation he described as “the lowest point” of his career. Loan spells at FC Twente and Fortuna Düsseldorf helped him regain form, culminating in him finishing the 2023-24 season as joint-top scorer in Germany’s second division with 24 goals and 10 assists.

Düsseldorf exercised their buy option on Tzolis for around £3 million in May 2024 but sold the winger to Brugge shortly afterward for about £5.6 million. Since then, he has emerged as one of the Belgian league’s standout performers. Last year, Crystal Palace made attempts to sign him as a replacement for Eberechi Eze, who moved to Arsenal, but Tzolis extended his contract with Brugge until 2029, signaling the club’s intent to retain him amid transfer interest.

Club Brugge have set a minimum valuation of approximately £34 million for Tzolis, a fee that could rise should other clubs enter the bidding. If Arsenal pursue the transfer, it would mark a record fee for a Greek player, exceeding the £31.5 million paid by Brighton for Babis Kostoulas last summer.

Arsenal may seek to finance the transfer partially by offloading Trossard, who is reportedly a target for Turkish side Besiktas in a deal estimated around £20 million. The club’s recruitment strategy reflects a broader plan to refresh their offensive lineup ahead of the upcoming season.
