The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has completed extensive development and refurbishment works at Al Asiri Souq and Faleh Souq, located in Central Doha. The project is part of a broader initiative to revitalize the central area of Doha, with a focus on enhancing commercial and tourism offerings while preserving the markets’ traditional architectural features.

Ashghal’s efforts aimed to strengthen the visual and urban identity of the area, reinforcing its status as a lively economic, commercial, and tourism hub. The redevelopment included a wide range of works, such as the restoration and maintenance of existing architectural elements, modernization of shopfronts, and improvements to external finishes.

Additionally, the project featured the organization and standardization of commercial signage to create a more cohesive and visually appealing environment. Upgrades to the lighting systems were also implemented to improve safety and the overall ambiance for visitors and shoppers.

Shared public spaces within the markets underwent rehabilitation, while flooring and marble surfaces were thoroughly cleaned and polished as part of the aesthetic enhancements. These measures were designed to improve the overall visitor experience and support the markets’ role as a key destination in Doha’s urban landscape.

The completion of this project reflects Ashghal’s commitment to preserving the cultural heritage of Doha while promoting its development as a modern and attractive destination for local residents and tourists alike.
